Our
1st Baby
miscarried
at only 8 weeks
Introduction:
We have been going
backwards and forwards to St. Mary's for about 5 years (by Mark's calculations!)
for treatment at their fertility clinic. This might sound strange but when Jane
discovered that she was pregnant it was a huge shock to both of us. We found
out on Jane's birthday and we both believe that it was the best birthday present
ever. When we told St. Mary's they invitied us to go for an early scan. Our
first scan showed that our baby was about 5 and a half weeks and we were given
2 scan photographs we have used the better of the 2 and also added a close up.

Next Scans:
We were invited back for a scan the following week, this tiime although we managed
to recognise a baby shape we were told that the baby was very small and that
they could not see a heartbeat. On our next scan we were told very gently that
our baby had not really grown and that there was no heartbeat and that by now
given the previous scans that the baby should have had a heart beat and that
we had lost our baby. Here are our final photographs on Monday and on Wednesday
to confirm diagnosis and which was part of our final goodbye to our baby. Here
are those pictures.
